The Series IMG is an Industrial Motor Generator, which provides total electrical isolation from voltage variations, spikes, brownouts, and electrical disturbances on your normal utility source. The Series IMG is built with an induction motor and a synchronous generator, and comes in vertical or horizontal configurations. PS&C’s Industrial Motor Generator Set can handle a single feeder or a dual feeder application.  The motor is sized for real power while the generator is sized for power quality.  Therefore, the Series IMG can stop disruption to the existing electrical service, and subsequently blocks all line disturbances including those that reflect back on the utility.  It also has the lowest cost of installation and maintenance in the industry.  PLC technology controls and monitors all the IMG’s functions.  As a result, the industrial motor generator is a very durable piece of equipment and has a long EOL of well over 20-30 years.

Above all, some application require more than 100ms of ride-thru, PS&C also builds the “Ride-Thru”  version of the Series IMG (industrial motor generator).  The ride-thru model is called the IMG-RT, provides power outage protection from short outages such as utility re-closure operations.  The rugged industrial M-G Set can tolerate a 40% drop from normal input voltage for 30 seconds without affecting the load.  While designed primarily as a power conditioner, systems do provide ride-through from 5.5 to 8.0 cycles, depending on the size and type of system.  Series IMG motor generator systems are available with a color touch screen display which simplifies all operator functions, and there are other options available including three levels of sound attenuation.
