Maintenance Bypass Switch:
Series MBP
Power Systems & Controls’ Series MBP, Maintenance Bypass Switch is designed to provide a means of isolating a power source while maintaining electrical power to the critical load. A maintenance bypass switch is necessary for maintenance, as well as, bypassing to an alternate source. The Series MBP contains electrically operated molded case switches, and reliable logic to allow a closed, make before break, transition. The maintenance bypass is operated from its front panel with one button operation. The device has easy to read lamps, in order to show the current status of the switch.
This allows the user to quickly determine the source of the power to the load. In the event the equipment being bypassed is a UPS, the logic constantly monitors the UPS internal bypass status, and will lockout the MBP operation until the UPS system transfers to it's bypass mode. The Series MBP logic also insures that the critical load is never transferred to a dead bus by monitoring for power, before allowing the transfer.
The Series MBP is designed to be used with any Uninterruptible Power Supply system, static or rotary, that can furnish a dry contact opening when it's internal bypass is closed. The design also permits total manual operation in the event of a total power failure. The Series MBP can also be outfitted with numerous options making it the perfect solution for your project.
