Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility:
Model SCIF
Power Systems & Controls Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) is built for the U.S. Intelligence community worldwide. The sensitive compartmented information facility is designed as enclosed area that is used to process “Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)” material. SCI is classified information concerning intelligence sources, methods, or analytical processes.
Therefore, this information and material must be treated at the correct classification and protected as such. PS&C’s portable Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) are manufactured to the highest standards required by the USG. This requriement includes the Isolation Transformer and Power Line Filter circuits. As required after manufacturing, each unit must be tested and approved prior to use.
What determined the Standards:
The construction, access, and monitoring controls of a SCIF have been defined by various directives. The Director of Central Intelligence Directives (DCIDs) 1/21 and 6/9, and most recently (2011) by Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705. ICD 705 and its classified parts are needed for each manufactured SCIF. Each authority has their own set of standards and guidelines used in conjunction with the agency specific documents, to ensure the product is built as needed. Other sub systems within the SCIF must conform to ICD 503 standards, however, these are just guidelines. Computers and other telecommunications equipment are mandated to conform to TEMPEST specifications.
Is there a Standard SCIF:
As a result, our SCIF systems are designed and built to meet all necessary standards, including ICD 705 DCID 6/9, AMSG 788A (SDIP-27 & NSTISSAM Level II), Mil Std 188-125-2. In addition, we test for EMI, Accoustic, RFI, and TEMPEST II requirements. The portable SCIF is offered in a 20’, 40’, or custom design footprint as our Engineering Department can provide any “turnkey” solution required.
PS&C’s sensitive compartmented information facility are being utilized for the USG application worldwide. Our SCIF systems are leading the industry, whether they are being deployed in a hostile environment, adding on to an existing post, or temporary installation. Power Systems & Controls offers standard 20’ or 40’ sensitive compartmented information facilities. However, all models can be manufactured as Expandable, and Modular.
